HISTORY OF KING'S HEATH LODGE 3863
No new Craft Lodge had been constituted during the First World War until September 1918 – two months before the armistice was signed. Thus it was that King’s Heath Lodge was founded as an act of faith, when the victory of the Allies was by no means assured.
The date of the warrant was 24th May 1918 and the Lodge was consecrated
on Saturday 7th September 1918. The Lodge was a daughter of Arter Lodge No. 2654 which had been consecrated in 1897. In King’s Heath Lodge dinner jackets were worn until the outbreak of the Second World War, when circumstances made less formal dress preferable. It is our tradition to wear a black tie in memory of those who went before us in the Great War.
The King’s Heath Lodge meets on the first Saturday of January, February, March, April, October, November and December at the Masonic Hall 221 Alcester Road South, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 6DT
